Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Super Eight: SNGPL in tight spot as Yamin shines

SSGC bowler takes six wickets to restrict opponents to 85 and enforce follow-on

KARACHI: A six-wicket haul by SSGC's Amir Yamin restricted SNGPL to a low total of 85 runs in their second round fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Super Eight at the SBP Sports Complex in Karachi yesterday.

SSGC resumed their first innings on 339-5 and could only reach 355 on the second day as Muhammad Irfan took four wickets while Ahmed Safi claimed three and Sami Niazi two.

SNGPL, meanwhile, were restricted to 85 in 41.3 overs in their first innings as Yamin dismissed six batsmen, while Ahmed Jamal took two wickets to force SNGPL to follow on.

At the end of play, SNGPL were batting on 63-2.

Zakir unbeaten ton gives SSGC strong start

In the match between WAPDA and Karachi Whites, Salman Butt and Zahid Mansoor scored centuries to help the former reach 417-9 in 112 over at the NBP Sports Complex in Karachi.

WAPDA resumed their first innings on 88-1 and were able to reach 417-9 at the end of play as Butt scored 120 off 155 balls hitting 17 boundaries, while Mansoor made 102 off 193 balls; his innings included 13 fours and a six.

For Karachi Whites, Ghulam Mudassar, Asad Butt, Razaul Hasan and Azam Hussain took two wickets each.

Team comes first for SSGC’s Zakir

Meanwhile at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi, NBP resumed their first innings on 44-2 and were able to add 127 runs before being dismissed for 171 by UBL.

Mir Hamza finished with figures of 4-58, while Sameen Gul claimed two wickets for 40 runs. At the end of play, UBL were batting on 92-4 with a lead of 97 runs.
