IESCO drive: Power thieves caught

Valued customers will inform about power theft on IESCO’s new Roshni 8398 SMS service

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) apprehended 21 more electricity thieves in various regions of the company in raids during its ongoing drive against power pilferers. The spokesman told the media that 10 culprits were caught red-handed in Chakwal, six from Rawalpindi and five from Jhelum circles. These people were using direct lines or kundas from IESCO power supply. He said FIRs have been lodged against power thieves under the new electricity (Amendment) Act. He said the IESCO was committed to taking stern action against power thieves across its all five regions. He also requested its valued customers to inform about power theft on IESCO’s new Roshni 8398 SMS service.
