Power management: UAF organises save energy walk

FAISALABAD:
An awareness walk on energy saving strategies was organised at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) on Tuesday with an aim to spread awareness, particularly among students, to save energy and fight the energy crisis in the country.

The walk started from admin block of the university and ended at the faculty of engineering and technology. The participants were holding placards inscribed with slogans about saving energy.               Speaking on the occasion, UAF VC Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan stressed the need to use alternative way of energy to face challenges. Only from the viable potential of wind energy, as many as 20,000-MW electricity could be produced and 5000-MW electricity from biomass, he added.


Department of Energy Systems Engineering under HEC Project staged the walk while UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar flanked by Dean Faculty of Agri Engineering Prof Dr Allah Buksh, Dr Anjum Munir, Chairman/ Project Principal Investigator of the project, Dr Abdul Ghafoor, Co-PI of Project and others led it.
