ISLAMABAD:
Seasonal motels located in Gilgit-Baltistan along the route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will remain open longer this year, till December 1.

This was stated by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan on Monday. In this regard, he said that PTDC had planned to construct a motel with modern facilities for tourists at Naltar and Gilgit. On the request of PTDC, Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman had allotted land measuring 30 kanals at Naltar to build the motel near the PAF skiing slopes.

Furthermore, Khan said that a calendar of tourism events will be chalked out for G-B, covering all the four seasons. Additionally, a special car-rally carrying friendship flags will be organised from Islamabad to China in the near future.

The MD said that the CM had agreed to hold all official meetings and conferences at PTDC Motels, for which PTDC would provide the government discounted rates. Khan noted that the G-B government planned to install and operate a chairlift and provide other facilities at Naltar.
