Orange Line project: Direction sought for road reconstruction )
The petitioner submitted that the government had filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the LHC’s order
LAHORE:
A writ petition was filed in the Lahore High Court seeking orders for reconstruction of the adjoining roads affected by the ongoing construction of the Lahore Metro’s Orange Line.
The petitioner submitted that the government had filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the LHC’s order, whereby it had stopped construction within 200 feet of 11 heritage sites.
He contended the government’s appeal was pending in the apex court and the government had not been granted any stay order.
He argued that several roads, including Multan Road, had been badly affected by the train project while the government had stopped reconstruction of these roads, causing immense difficulties to the citizens.
He requested the court to direct the government to reconstruct the adjourning roads damaged by the construction of Orange Line.
