Unfit To Govern: Court moved against Sindh governor
The petitioner has submitted that the newly appointed governor is ineligible for this slot
LAHORE:
A writ petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court challenging the appointment of Justice (retd) Saeeduz Zaman as the governor of Sindh. The petitioner has submitted that the newly appointed governor is not only unfit for the position of governor based on his ill health but also ineligible for this slot. He has requested the court to declare illegal the appointment of the former judge to run the matters of Sindh. After 14 years in office, Ishratul Ibad was replaced by the retired Supreme Court judge as the Sindh governor by the federal government on Wednesday. Saeed, 78, remained the chief justice of Pakistan from July 1999 till December 2005 and was among a few judges who refused to take oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order proclaimed by former dictator Pervez Musharraf.
