ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Dr Babar Awan has urged the Supreme Court to take suo moto action pertaining to the trial of former president Pervez Musharraf.
“The apex court and parliament have declared the November 3, 2007 steps of the former dictator as unconstitutional and illegal,” he said while addressing a reception hosted in honour of members of the Constitutional Reforms Committee organised by the National Press Club.
He went on to say that for the first time in the country’s history the executive had surrendered its powers in the formation of the Judicial Commission. “The Judicial Commission has been made in such a way that the executive has delegated most of its powers to parliament,” he said.
