Ghotki police arrest 10 criminals

The suspects are accused of a rocket attack.

SUKKUR: The Ghotki police arrested 10 men, including Sadiq Gadani who was on their most wanted list, on Tuesday.

The arrests were made barely 24 hours after the suspects had allegedly attacked with a rocket Makai Gadani village in the jurisdiction of Khanpur Mahar.

The gang of armed men raided the village late Monday night and attacked with a rocket and automatic weapons. Four people, including a woman, were injured in the attack. The victims were identified as Ali Hassan Gadani, Yasin Gadani, Asghar Gadani and Mai Momal Gadani.

Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police raided different Gadani villages and arrested Sadiq,  Ameer, Zameer, Mushtaq, Mohammad Hassan, Abdul Samad, Aijaz, Lutuf Ali, Nazar Mohammad and Suhno. According to Ghotki SP Investigation Yar Mohammad Rind, the police have also seized four Kalashnikov rifles, two G-3 rifles, three pistols and a sizable quantity of bullets.

The Khanpur Mahar police have registered a case on behalf of the state against 20 Gadani men, including the 10 who were arrested. According to sources, the dispute between the two groups of the Gadani clan started a year and a half ago when Raja Gadani, Sadiq’s son, was killed.
