MIRPUR: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider has set a two-year deadline to complete new development projects in AJK.

“All departments need to hold monthly review meetings on development projects,” he said while addressing the first fortnightly developmental review meeting late on Friday.

The AJK premier laid emphasis on transparency in the development process.

In this regard, he formed a committee, headed by the AJK finance minister, to implement financial discipline in the valley. At the district level, committees were also formed to review and monitor development projects. Haider suggested adopting austerity in view of limited recourses.

He said that all available resources were being utilised for the progress and uplift of the people and special attention is being paid to development of backward and remote areas.

The AJK premier said that high standard and transparency in the implementation of projects would be the hallmark of government.
