Women 'sin' when they don't consent to sex with their husband: Canadian imam
According to the imam a woman can only withhold sex from her husband if she is ill or when she is fasting

A Muslim imam in Canada sparked outrage after claiming that women are committing a 'sin' if they do not consent to sex with their husbands.
Musleh Khan, who claims to be a marriage counseling expert, made the comment during a question and answer session at Ummah Nabawiah Mosque in Ontario, Canada last year, and has since been asked to explain himself.

Khan reportedly said that a woman can only withhold sex from her husband if she is ill or when she is fasting during the holy month of Ramazan. "Without a valid reason then she committed a major sin” he said.
"So sisters it's part of your act of worship towards Allah that you try to respond to this as best you can as part of your duties as the wife." Further, Khan also allegedly advised women to seek permission from their husbands before leaving the house.
The president of the Toronto Police Association, Mike McCormack claims to have received a stream of emails pertaining to his comments.
He said Khan "needs to clarify his comments", adding: "I think a lot of our members have an issue with that type of issue."

The Canadian government and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have been critiqued for being lenient on issues such as terrorism. Recently, the Canadian government passed an “anti-Islamophobia" legislation to condemn anyone who criticises Islam or vandalises mosques.
