LAHORE: Shalimar investigations police claimed on Friday to have solved a blind murder case and arrested a suspect for brutally killing a teenage boy and dumping his body in a canal. The body of 16-year-old boy Muhammad Ijaz was fished out from the BRB canal on November 1. Civil Lines SP Investigation Ali Raza said Jamil alias Jeela confessed he had killed the boy to exact revenge from his mother Shafqat Bibi, who was married to his elder brother. After his brother’s death, she got married again and he had a grudge against her. “The suspect went to the woman’s house to kill her but she was not there. So instead he took her son to Batapur on a motorcycle and strangled him to death before dumping it in the canal,” said Ali.
