42-year-old makes way into the list of top 10 run-scorers as Test captains

Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq has made way into the list of the top 10 run scorers by skippers in the longest format of the game.

The 42-year-old moved past former England captain Michael Atherton during the ongoing Test against West Indies in Sharjah after he scored 53 in the first innings. He also became the first captain from Asia to join the distinguished list.

Former South Africa captain Graeme Smith currently leads the table with 8,659 runs from 109 matches at an average of 47.83. The Johannesburg-born is followed by Australians Allan Border and Ricky Ponting.



Misbah is on 10th spot with 3,819 runs at an average of 55.34, just 127 runs behind Michael Clarke.
