PAEC to set up cancer hospital in Gilgit

ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has said that it would establish two more cancer hospitals in the country, one of them in Gilgit.

PAEC Chairman Muhammad Naeem, while addressing a seminar on breast cancer in Islamabad on Saturday, stated that the agency would set up one of the facilities in the capital of Gilgit-Baltistan while the other would be built in Mardan in K-P.

Naeem said that around 18 medical centres are already operating under the aegis of PAEC in all provinces.

He added that the required resources would be mobilised to meet the requirements of these hospitals.

Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary, while addressing the seminar, emphasised the need for creating awareness among people about all types of cancers including breast cancer.
