ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday called upon the United States to continue building the strategic relationship with Pakistan and not let the countries’ ties be affected by the Raymond Davis incident.

He also asked the US to adopt a non-discriminatory policy towards Pakistan and India. Talking to a US Congressional delegation led by Senator Robert Corker at the Prime Minister House, Gilani said this would help build the US image and its perception amongst the people of Pakistan.

The congressional delegation comprised Senator Bernad Sanders, Senator Joseph Manchin III and Senator Christopher Coons.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, US Ambassador in Pakistan Cameron Munter, Senator Syeda Sughra Imam, secretaries of foreign affairs and defence and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.

Cautious | 13 years ago | Reply Toss a foreign diplomat in jail and then ask for equal treatment with India? I suppose Pakistani's don't know the meaning of gall.
Aftab Kenneth Wilson | 13 years ago | Reply All roads towards good relationship between Pakistan and USA is now in the hands of Punjab government and its leadership. Media also needs to show some sanity and sense of responsibility. If any unfortunate thing happens then only those who are playing ping pong on this issue will be responsible. The whole country should not suffer due to rough stand taken by some. All are out there playing the way they feel suitable for gaining more ground and support for coming elections (if they are even held, I doubt it). I only foresee "Technocratic Government" which will lead us to nowhere other than anarchy and chaos. All filthy rich no matter from which walk of life they belong must first bring their riches from the foreign lands and then talk about common person on the streets. All exiles must also return back. Don't expect anything from people living in a Palace like homes in all our four provinces.
