SUKKUR: The Ghotki police arrested eight suspects during raids in Keenjhar on Thursday night.

The suspects were allegedly involved in ransacking, looting and injuring a devotee at Shadhani Darbar, Hayat Pitafi. On February 16, three men broke into the temple and stole cash and mobile phones at gunpoint. They also stole the keys to the donation box.

When devotee Dr Tekam Das put up a resistance the robbers hit him with a gun.

The temple’s caretaker, Bhai Jay Ram Das, informed the police and helped them trace the robbers. Ghotki SP Investigations Yar Mohammad Rind told The Express Tribune that, out of the eight men arrested, two of them - Idrees Pitafi and Hussain Shahani - have confessed to the crime.
