LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has fixed November 2 for hearing the petition against the non-implementation of the Nation Action Plan against terrorism. The policy was framed in 2014 to counter terrorism and extremism in the country. Petitioner Munir Ahmad has accused the federal and Punjab governments for showing reluctance to implement 20 points of the NAP. He claimed the country had lost 60,000 lives and suffered losses worth $115 billion because of the government’s negligence in fighting against terrorism. Munir’s counsel said the security of citizens, maintenance of peace and unveiling real hands behind terrorism activities was inevitable to ensure economic progress of the country. “The implementation of NAP will also help unearth the hands of foreign agencies, particularly RAW and their involvement I hiring the local mercenaries,” he said.
