Promoting women: Day of Girl Child celebrated 

The girls from Kalyal were warmly welcomed by the host students

ISLAMABAD: The girls of Government Elementary School Kalyal Rawalpindi were invited to Roots Ivy, DHA-1 to celebrate UN International Day of the Girl Child 2016. This year marks the fifth International Day of the Girl Child following the theme of “Girls’ Progress is equal to Goals’ Progress: A Global Girl Data Movement”. The girls from Kalyal were warmly welcomed by the host students. They joined hands to conduct special activities including sports gala, speeches, national songs, fund raising, cake cutting ceremony, wearing pink accessories, poster competitions and giving special goody bags containing bangles, clips, earrings, hair bands, jewelry and henna to the under-privileged girl students of Government Elementary School Kalyal, Rawalpindi.
