ISLAMABAD: The general secretary of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) on Friday filed  a reference against the incumbent chief justice  of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) before the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC). In the reference,  the IHCBA’s general secretary Muhammad Waqas Malik accused the judge of “misconduct” and that he had “violated his oath of office.” While referring to the recent verdict of the Supreme Court in the illegal appointments case, Malik maintained that the decision left no scope for any other interpretation except that IHC Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi had violated his oath of office. While addressing a press conference at bar room in IHC on October 13, he had announced that he would file the reference against Justice Kasi before SJC under Article 209 of the Constitution on Friday.
