Bise results announced: ‘40% of first year students passed’
A total of 882 candidates did not appear for the examinations, the chairman said

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi (BISE) on Monday announced results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) part-I examination for 2016.
The pass percentage in the examinations remained at 40.07 per cent. According to BISE Chairman Dr Muhammad Zareef, a total of 43,698 candidates (boys and girls) appeared in the HSSC-I annual examination out of which 17,510 were declared successful, while 26,178 failed their examinations.

He said that 44,623 students had enrolled in part-I, but only 43,698 candidates appeared for the exams. Of these, he said, 26,845 were girls while 17,778 were boys. A total of 882 candidates did not appear for the examinations, the chairman said.
