Lawmaker’s plea: Resolution seeks ban on Indian dramas, films
It also calls for imposing strict punishments for television channels and cable operators found violating the ban

A ruling party lawmaker has submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly, demanding a ban on Indian TV drama serials and films on Pakistani channels and cinemas. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s MPA Hina Parvez Butt submitted the resolution in the Punjab Assembly secretariat on Monday.
The resolution comes in the wake of tense ties between India and Pakistan after exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistan troops at the LoC.
The resolution calls for a complete ban on Indian content on Pakistan television channels while also calling for the same for exhibition of Indian movies in Pakistani cinema houses. It also calls for imposing strict punishments for television channels and cable operators found violating the ban.
