NEF, AJK schools ink deal for technical education

The National Education Foundation (NEF) and three private schools of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) signed an agreement on Thursday to provide students in the valley with technical and vocational education.
According to the MoU, the foundation will bear partial expenses for the equipment and training workshops which will be conducted at the schools, according to a statement issued.
The courses included in the programme are cell phone repairing, electrical wiring, welding, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and plumbing for boys. For girls, stitching, fashion, designing, beautician and embroidery have been included.
The NEF can give a maximum of Rs2.2 million to each school under this project and that school would also have to invest an equal amount as per the rules of the public private partnership.
Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Engineer Balighur Rehman witnessed the signing of the MoU at a ceremony attended by NEF MD Qaiser Majeed and other officials of the ministry and NEF.
