KARACHI: Amjadullah Khan, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) central executive committee member, parted ways with the party's Pakistan leadership on Monday saying he was loyal to party founder Altaf Hussain only.

The resignation - the second in line - has come five days after MQM-London convener Nadeem Nursat asked workers and supporters to disassociate themselves with the leaders claiming to save the party by moving resolutions and speaking against Altaf.

Khan was a new member in the MQM as he joined the party after quitting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in April this year.

He was the PTI candidate in the NA-245 by-election but withdrew in favour of MQM hours before the polling. Clarifying his stance, Khan said that he is still associated with the party but recognises the London chapter only. He asserted that from now on he is not linked to Farooq Sattar and others who are running MQM-Pakistan.
