DERA GHAZI KHAN: Around 10,000 additional classrooms will be constructed at various primary schools of Dera Ghazi Khan. In the first stage, 1,400 classrooms will be constructed in the district under the Khadim-e-Punjab School Programme.

This was decided at a meeting presided over by DG Khan DCO Nadeeur Rehman on Saturday.

A technical committee has been formed to make sure quality material is used in the construction. The committee will present its recommendations in the next few days.  The DCO said no compromise would be made on the quality of material and directed the committee members to check the quality of blocks at brick kilns in DG Khan.

Approximately 40 million blocks are required for the construction of 1,400 classrooms, for which kiln owners have been approached to provide details. Under the programme, the construction of these classrooms should be completed by the year-end.
