ABBOTTABAD: At least one person was killed and two policemen were injured in an alleged encounter with suspected drug dealers on Friday.

However, the family of the slain man, later identified as Joni, have accused the police of killing him extra-judicially.

Police had raided a house near Lakhpat Chowk following a tip-off. “We received an intelligence report that an alleged drug peddler with a sizable quantity of hash and liquor was present at the spot,” DSP Amjad Majid said.

During the raid, the suspect and six accomplices opened fire at the police injuring two constables. In the exchange of fire, Joni was killed.
