Dragnet: 66 suspects held, stolen goods and weapons recovered

Following directions from SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, special teams were constituted by SP (Rural) Dr Mustafa Tanveer

ISLAMABAD: In an over 45-day long dragnet operation, Sihala police have arrested 66 suspects, including nine proclaimed offenders and recovered nearly a million rupees in cash, three cars, seven motorcycles, drugs and weapons.

Following directions from SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, special teams were constituted by SP (Rural) Dr Mustafa Tanveer to ensure arrest of criminals.

According to police officials, these teams headed by DSP Ashraf Shah included SHO Sihala police station Inspector Abdul Ghafoor, Sub-Inspector Sher Ahmed and other police officials managed to apprehend 66 alleged outlaws including nine proclaimed offenders.

Officials said that the arrested people were being interrogated at respective police stations.
