LAHORE: Instructors will receive training on leadership and disaster management skills during the second phase of a capacity-building programme.

The initiative will allow instructors to win international accreditation with International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG). The second phase of the programme was launched at Emergency Services Academy on Monday.

During the programme, instructors would be given training on instructional, leadership and disaster management skills to deal with issues arising after natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and structure collapses.

The first phase of the programme finished on earlier this month, while the second phase will conclude on October 1.

Emergency Services Academy Director General Amir Hamza said the academy was in the process of accreditations with international organisations which required our instructors to be equipped with updated rescue techniques.

During the sessions, guest speakers from Pakistan Armed Forces, Law-enforcement and security agencies, Punjab Forensic Science Agency, the Punjab police, the district administration and universities will participate and train instructors.
