Favouring Rao Anwar: Demonstration held on Super Highway

KARACHI: Traffic on Super Highway remained clogged for two hours as more than a dozen people held a demonstration in favour of suspended Malir SSP Rao Anwar. Anwar was recently suspended by the Sindh government following the arrest of opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly, Khawaja Izharul Hasan. The protesters, who claimed to be members of the civil society, carried banners which read ‘The protest will continue if suspension order of SSP Anwar is not withdrawn’. One of the protesters said “It is all of because of SSP Anwar that today we can breathe with freedom”. The traffic resumed after the protesters dispersed.  On the other hand, Special Branch SSP Javed Akbar Riaz has been posted as the Malir SSP.
