In what can only be described as a horrific incident, a six-year-old child was killed after he came under the pitch roller during a club match at Jinnah Stadium, Gujranwala.

According to Express News, Salman, a resident of Gul Road, was at the ground to watch the match with his father and siblings.

After the match was finished, he was sitting on the ground when the operator switched on the roller, which resulted in a tragic incident.

Players on the field gathered around the place of incident, whereas the operator Abdul Majeed ran away from the stadium, but was later arrested by the police and a case was registered against him. Police also arrested the stadium watchman Talib Hussain.

Deceased Salman was the youngest among his siblings. DCO Gujranwala Muhammad Aamir Jan constituted committee under the ADC for the inquiry of the incident.

M.S. | 8 years ago | Reply Except running from the scene of accident, operator has committed no crime. Why the kid was at the field? Parents and ground management are responsible for this tragedy.
Amir | 8 years ago | Reply This seems to be a pure incidence of negligence, and no supervision from the parent who allowed the child to go near a machinery.
