LAHORE: New York Fashion Week has been in full swing since September 8. Throughout the week, we have been keeping a close eye on our favorite Spring/Summer trends, ahead of the upcoming PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week in Lahore. Here is a rundown of some of the standout collections.

Prabal Gurung

Gurung incorporated eclectic elements into a collection that was a veritable treat to watch. From tops and skirts, slashed to reveal flashes of skin, to contrasting volumes of dresses that were fitted at the top with a gorgeous silken fluidity at the bottom. A favourite from the collection was a cashmere sweater, yanked off one shoulder, which seems like the new way to wear the cold shoulder trend in upcoming colder months.

Rosetta Getty

Getty’s collection was minimal yet luxurious, made with Japanese twill, stretch cady and cotton poplin. With a focus on separates, the clothes could effortlessly transition from day to evening. The unexpected shapes and geometric cuts are uncomplicated, modern and made in a universally flattering colour palette. This is one collection we are seriously lusting for, especially those open-shoulder tops.

Altuzurra

Joseph Altuzurra was inspired by David Lynch’s 1990 film Wild at Heart for this collection. The showcase was rooted firmly in modern silhouettes and separates that have made Altuzarra a sensation. The clothes were romantic and kitschy with a focus on fruity elements offset by flirty ruffles and tougher python motifs. The feminine shoes and bags, Altuzurra is also well known for, will also surely fly off the shelves.
