LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday issued directives for removal of Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company Chief Executive Officer Naveed Mushtaq Gill from his post for showing negligence towards the Quaid-i-Azam Apparel Park project.

The decision was taken at a meeting held to review progress in the project.

Sharif said there was no justification for the delay in completion of work for a project crucial for the textile sector. He said the standard operating procedure had not been followed for the project. He said that a committee should be set up to oversee progress on the project. CM’s Special Assistant Dr Ijaz Nabi, the chief secretary, the Planning and Development Board chairman and the commercial counselor of Pakistan in China were also present.
