KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court issued on Tuesday notices to the special prosecutor of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the bail application filed by chairperson of Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, (BSEK) who has been arrested over corruption allegations. Last month, the NAB investigators had arrested Anwar Ahmed Zai over allegations of corruption and misuse of authority. Filing application through his lawyer, Zai claimed he had nothing to do with the allegations leveled by the NAB. The lawyer informed the judges that the applicant was in NAB’s custody on remand and needed medical care, but he was not being provided the same. He pleaded the court to grant him post-arrest bail. The division bench issued notices to the NAB special prosecutor and others for September 9 to file comments on the bail plea.
