Second day: Lawyers continue boycott of courts
The strike was called by the Sindh Bar Council (SBC)
KARACHI:
Lawyers continued for the second day on Monday their strike against the suicide attack on a district and sessions court in Mardan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in which around 13 people were killed. The strike was called by the Sindh Bar Council (SBC) and a complete boycott of the courts was observed, said SBC secretary Zainul Abideen. “The lawyers’ fraternity condemns the Mardan attack and demands the culprits be brought to justice,” Abideen said, adding that it was the second major attack on the legal fraternity in less than a month. “We have lost our comrades in these suicide blasts,” he said, adding that the security at courts must be intensified immediately.
