KARACHI: All the parking provisions have been provided in Zulfikarabad oil terminal where 800 tankers can be parked at a time, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) technical services director-general Niaz Somroo told commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Khan.

According to a press statement issued by the commissioner office on Saturday, Khan was briefed while visiting the Zulfikarabad oil terminal. The underground water lines have been laid inside the terminal and overhead water tanks have been constructed, said Somroo.

A police check-post has been constructed at the site and 128 functional toilets for drivers and other staff have also been made, said Somroo, adding that space has been left for the construction of a prayer area and restaurants, while arrangements to facilitate any bank have been made.

Meanwhile, Khan directed the municipal authorities to enhance coordination with the owners of the tankers so that parking in the terminal can begin. He also directed the authorities to construct 20 more toilets on the demands of the oil tankers' owners.
