MANSEHRA:
A man gunned down his wife and nephew in Jaba village of Mansehra after suspecting the two had illicit relations. A police official told The Express Tribune on Sunday the suspect is on the run, while his brother was arrested.
Saddar SHO Amir Khan cited Misry Khan, a resident of village Kot Gali, Balakot, as saying his daughter, Aasia Bibi, 19, was married to Muhammad Iqbal about a year ago. The couple has no children.
On Saturday evening, Iqbal and his brother Shafique gunned down Aasia Bibi and their nephew Naseem, 14, son of Abdul Ghafoor. The police registered a double murder case against Iqbal and his brother Shafique. While Shafique was arrested, his brother, the principal accused in this case, remained at large, the SHO said.
Meanwhile, the arrested suspect claimed to the police that the two slain individuals had illicit relations and Bibi’s husband had repeatedly asked them not to meet.
However, on Saturday evening, when Iqbal came home he allegedly found the two in an objectionable state and gunned them down to save family honour.
