LAHORE:
The National Commission for Justice and Peace (NCJP), a rights-based organisation, on Friday condemned suicide bombings at Mardan district courts and in Christian Colony near Warsak Dam, Peshawar.

“The prompt response from law enforcement and security agencies saved hundreds of lives in Christian Colony in Peshawar today,” the NCJP said in a statement.

NCJP chairperson Bishop Joseph Arshad and executive director Cecil Shane Chaudhry said that killing innocent people was unacceptable. They said the government needed to strengthen security measures to ensure the right of life for all citizens. They said Khyber Pakhtunkwa had faced many terrorist attacks over the past 15 years. “The NCJP and the Christian community stand firmly with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkwa in their hour of grief.” They said such incidents had caused bereavement across the country. They extended their condolences to the families of terrorism victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
