Fashion round-up: Who wore what at MTV Video Music Awards
The 33rd annual MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) made a return to New York City’s Madison Square Garden
LAHORE:
The 33rd annual MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) made a return to New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The evening promised appearances from A-List celebrities including Beyonce, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. However, with their dicey fashion, not all of them managed to make it to our style radar. Beyonce, Ariana Grande and Heidi Klum did, for making an impact that still has us in awe of their looks.
Beyonce
Queen Bey had 11 nominations for this year’s VMAs so the star had to make an entrance dressed for the part. The see through pale green and metallic gown by Maison Francesco Scognamiglio she picked did that for her. The colour and feathers on the one-piece made Bey look almost like an ice queen. What toned down the iciness was that she entered holding hands with daughter Blue Ivy who was decked out in princess mode. With a tulle skirt, tiara and pair of peach-colored kicks — the mom and daughter duo stole the show at the VMA red carpet.
Ariana Grande
If it wasn’t obvious that Grande has shed away the sweet faced kid look to assume the full diva pop star status, it was established after her VMA appearance. She showed up in a super hot Alexander Wang frilled crop top and flared trousers. With her signature high ponytail and dramatic fringe — she looked every bit a star! In keeping with the trend du jour, the singer-actor also wore a black choker around her neck.
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum started her modelling career over 20 years ago but proved at the VMAs that she’s still got it. The 43 year-old looked stunning in a short patterned number, showing off her legs for days. Klum kept her make-up light and skin dewy and glowing. She teamed her dress with a pair of strappy pink heels, keeping the focus on the dress.
