An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday directed the Sherakot station house officer (SHO) not to harass a woman who had married the man of her choice out of her free will.

The petitioner informed the court that her parents had been harassing her because she had refused to work as a sex worker and married Mujahid Ali out of her free will on August 25.

She said that her father had pressed her to run a prostitution business and taken her to Dubai for this purpose.


‘Husband tried to sell me to traffickers’

She said that her father had tortured her when she refused to follow his orders. She said that her father had also sent her two daughters to Dubai for prostitution.

Earlier, an additional district and sessions judge on Saturday sought comments from the Shahdara SHO on a petition filed by a woman seeking a case against her husband for trying to sell her to people running a prostitution business.

She requested the relevant SHO to take action against her husband.
