Baldia factory fire: Case transferred to ATC
District West's additional sessions judge referred the case before the ATC's administrative judge
KARACHI:
A district and sessions court transferred on Saturday the Baldia factory fire case to the anti-terrorism courts' (ATC) administrative judge following the submission of the charge sheet terming the incident an arson attack.
District West's additional sessions judge referred the case before the ATC's administrative judge observing that a regular court could not try the case since the supplementary charge was read with the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
The new charge sheet reads that the fire at Ali Enterprises garments factory was caused by some miscreants belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement over non-payment of extortion.
