ABBOTABAD: Employees of  Tehsil Municipal Administration Abbottabad continued their strike for the second consecutive day on Friday.

According to TMO Syed Farman Shah, tehsil councillor Sadaqat Jadoon from Nawanshehr union council accused the TMA staff of being corrupt and inept and used derogatory and abusive language against them when he visited their office. He said humiliating remarks against TMA workers caused them to go on strike for an indefinite period of time.   The TMA staff demanded the councillor apologise publicly.

Owing to the strike, employees of sanitation department refused to collect solid waste, leaving tonnes of garbage uncollected across the city.  When contacted, Sadaqat Jadoon denied using derogatory remarks or abusive language against the whole staff. He said he had only pointed out corruption in different development schemes of his union council, adding that irked the TMO and his staff who observed strike.
