Most of the budget-related work is completed using electronic mediums, said a United States-based automated budgeting and finance expert, Syed Bilal. He was delivering a lecture at the Sindh Madressatul Islam University’s (SMIU) Junagadh Hall on Thursday. The lecture is part of a 10-day development programme organised by the varsity for its faculty, which will conclude on September 2. In the US, the current year’s budget is prepared two years in advance, said Bilal. In his welcome address, SMIU vice-chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh said that it is important for a country to deal with budget-related matters and other finances in a transparent manner. Pakistan also has a set of rules for the preparation and allocation of budget, he added.
