Islamabad police have arrested five suspects.

The Secretariat police had arrested Kamran and two other party officials, Ali Raza and Asif Iqbal, earlier this month for placing controversial banners in Islamabad and other major cities. They are accused of placing banners urging the army chief to sack the government. A driver and an outdoor advertiser who were hired by the party to put up the banners were also arrested.
The suspects were given into police custody and later sent to Adiala jail on a judicial remand. Kamran filed a post-arrest bail application.
On Friday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Abida Sajjad took up the plea and adjourned the case till August 23.
The suspects have been booked for sedition, conspiracy, and for making statements conducing to public mischief. Formal charged have not been brought yet
Cases against the party have also been registered in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Lahore.
