Distance learning: AIOU to make postgraduate courses available online
Vice-chancellor says new challenges in education sector can be faced through innovative ideas

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) plans to make its postgraduate courses available online.
This was said by the AIOU Vice-Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui while inaugurating a workshop on Wednesday.
Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, and the AIOU had organised the ICT-skill based workshop on capacity building of students and for development of new courses through use of latest technology.
It was jointly organised by the university’s Department of Computer Sciences and International Collaboration and Exchange Office, said a press release.
Siddiqui underlined the need for updating existing curriculum and education practices, keeping in view the fast-changing circumstances and needs of students.
Challenges in education sector can be faced through innovative ideas, he added. The university will make all its postgraduate courses online, Siddiqui announced.
