RAWALPINDI: A Customs court on Wednesday accepted an application seeking temporary exemption for model Ayyan Ali’s appearance in court after her lawyer stated she would appear before the Sindh High Court on Thursday.

Judge Rana Aftab Ahmed adjourned the hearing till August 31 and directed Advocate Khurram Latif Khosa to make sure that his client was present for the next hearing.

Meanwhile, Khosa filed two applications — one asking for a permanent exemption from appearance, and another regarding Customs officials’ inability to produce two witnesses in court.

The court issued notices to Customs seeking a response in the next hearing.
