Breastfeeding: LRH urges govt to make it priority

Health experts spoke about the importance of breastfeeding for a healthy life during a day-long session regarding World Breastfeeding Week at Lady Reading Hospital on Wednesday. Speakers said the government should take steps to ensure every single child is breastfed. “The government should lead the charge of making breastfeeding priority in national development plans, increase resources to supports breastfeeding and work with communities and families to promote the benefits of breastfeeding,” Unicef Executive Director Anthony Lake’s message read on the occasion.
