Women Chamber: Delegation discusses trade with UK 

The UK actively supports the increased participation of women in the area of trade and commerce

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) met Acting British High Commissioner to Pakistan Patrick Moody Wednesday. The delegation led by IWCCI Founding President Samina Fazil discussed opportunities to further enhance trade links between UK and Pakistan and explore opportunities for women entrepreneurs. The delegation also discussed areas of cooperation after the establishment of British Business Centres in Pakistan. Moody said, “The UK actively supports the increased participation of women in the area of trade and commerce.” He said that UK’s help, through the State Bank of Pakistan, has already resulted in an increase of six million micro-finance borrowers in Pakistan, more than 50% of whom are women.
