NOWSHERA: At least 16 people have been detained in Nowshera for their alleged involvement in cases of pickpocketing at PTI’s Tehreek-e-Ehtesab rally on August 7.

Speaking at a news conference in Nowshera on Wednesday, Nowshera DPO Wahid Mehmood said cash and weapons were seized from the suspects. “They were also involved in cases of burglary in K-P and other provinces.”

According to Mehmood, a team was constituted under the supervision of the Azakhel SHO after a series of complaints were registered by participants of the rally.  The team arrested Sabir Hussain in a raid. “The police have arrested 15 burglars from different areas on information provided by Sabir,” he said. “The case has been registered in Nowshera police station.”
