Illegal confinement: ASI suspended over misuse of power
PESHAWAR:
K-P IGP Nasir Khan Durrani suspended an ASI with immediate effect on charges of keeping a citizen in illegal confinement.
A citizen of Peshawar had complained to the IGP that ASI Sadaqat Khan of Regi police station had kept his brother in illegal confinement and tortured him mentally. The IGP enquired into the allegations through the relevant senior police officials and found they were based on true facts. He then ordered further departmental enquiry against him.
