Energy challenges: Students, faculty set to travel to US

Pakistani and American officials gathered today at a conference organised in connection with 33 Pakistani graduate students and two faculty members set to travel to the US for an exchange programme.

A semester shall be spent at Arizona State University and Oregon State University, where they will conduct research on Pakistan’s energy challenges, said a press release. Under the umbrella of the Higher Education Commission, the US-Pakistan Centres for Advanced Studies in Energy have been set up at the National University of Sciences and Technology and at the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar.

American and Pakistani officials have also collaborated to establish a Centre for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, in partnership with the University of California, Davis, and the Centre for Advanced Studies in Water at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, in partnership with the University of Utah..
