Police register murder case, no suspects for now
LAHORE:
The body of woman found shot and killed from a hotel on The Mall on Friday was handed over to her family following an autopsy on Saturday.
A police officer privy to the investigation told The Express Tribune that the autopsy report indicated that the deceased had received a bullet from point blank range.
“A single bullet entered the skull from the right side and exited from the left. Burnt hair were found at the site of the entry wound and on the tip of the handgun,” he said. The official said that the initial report had ruled out sexual assault. “Samples from heart, stomach and other organs had been sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) for further investigation,” the officer said.

Police have also asked the cellular phone company for record of calls made and text messages sent from her phone.
According to the police, she was a student of Queen Mary College. “She frequently visited Kinnaird College for sporting activities.
“On Friday, she had told her family members that she was going to the college. She had arrived at the hotel’s back gate on a rickshaw,” a police official said.
Police have also requested the hotel administration to share with them CCTV footage for investigation purposes.
