The accused confessed to snatching Rs8,000 from Talha before killing him

SWABI: Suspects accused of killing 13-year-old Talha Mehmood have been arrested by the Swabi district police.

The accused, Waseem and Nadeem, of Tordher, Swabi, were Talha’s neighbours.

According to the police, Waseem went to the boy and offered him a job in Rawalpindi. However, with the help of his accomplice, Nadeem, killed Talha in a graveyard.

During a news conference in this regard on July 14, Chota Lahor DSP Pasham Gul Khan and Tordher SHO Munsif Khan told the media Talha’s body was found from a graveyard in Tordher.

The body was sent for post-mortem, after which an FIR was registered.

Swabi DPO Javed Iqbal Khan called it a barbaric offence and created a team under the supervision of Pasham Gul, so that the culprits could be taken to task.

The team investigated the case and reached Waseem and Nadeem.

They confessed to the crime and during investigation told the police they also snatched Rs8,000 from Talha before killing him. The knife used in the murder was also found by the police.

The DPO announced prizes for the team for reaching to the conclusion of the case.

The team members included ASI Mukhtiar Khan and Syedul Ameen.
